The Soul

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth (3 John 1:2)

Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (Mar 8:37)

During this time of economic crisis many people are worried about their finances and their ability to prosper.  Some have killed themselves or their family for fear of financial ruin and others have lost the very successful jobs that sourced their wealthy lives.  We have watched the stock market shares plunge in countries and continents.  The world has looked to wealth and financial prosperity to answer their problems and appease their lusts but now the financial world is being shaken.  It is as important as ever to know that your soul can prosper if you are rooted and grounded in Christ.

The soul of a person is his Will, Emotions and Intellect.  Our Will prospers when we obey God, our Emotions prosper when we look to God and our Intellect prospers when we rest in the confidence that God is the omniscient one.  There is no coin or currency as valuable as the soul, so let us invest in our souls, as its worth will never decrease.
