Jeremiah 11-12; Psalm 135; Hebrews 11

Jeremiah 11

Jeremiah 11:1-2 Lord, as it pleased You to give Jeremiah a message to the people, grant us the privilege of sharing Your words with those we come in contact with today.

Jeremiah 11:5 Whatever You tell me to do, Lord, please let me answer, “So be it, Lord!” I want Your will and Your way in my life!

Jeremiah 11:8 Father, help us to constantly choose Your will over our own desires.

Jeremiah 11:16 Make me like a thriving olive tree, Lord, beautiful to see and full of good fruit.

Jeremiah 11:21 Lord, let me not be intimidated by people who try to torment me because they feel convicted or threatened by Your truth.

Jeremiah 12

Jeremiah 12:3 Lord, You know my heart. You see me and test my thoughts. “point out anything in me that offends You, and lead me along the path of everlasting life” (Psalm 139:24)

Jeremiah 12:5 Father, help us to prove ourselves in little things so that You can trust us with greater things.

Jeremiah 12:8 Lord, if I ever open my mouth to speak disrespectfully to You, please close it before a single syllable escapes.

Psalm 135

Psalm 135:1,3,5 Praise your name, O Lord! I praise You because You are good. I praise Your name, O Lord! I praise You because You are great.

Psalm 135:6 I praise Your name, O Lord! I praise You because You are Sovereign; You do whatever pleases You.

Psalm 135:9 I praise Your name O Lord! I praise You because You are a God of miracles.

Psalm 135:13 I praise Your name, O Lord! I praise You because You are eternal; Your name will last forever.

Psalm 135:15-18 I praise You, Lord, because You are living and true, unlike the world’s idols.

Hebrews 11

Hebrews 11:1-2 Ponder Scripture’s definition of faith. Pray that the Holy Spirit will deepen your “confident assurance” of what you hope for and expand your vision of what you cannot see.

Hebrews11:8-10 Dear God, give me a faith like Abraham’s! Help me to step out in faith, even when I don’t know where You are taking me.

Hebrews 11:13 Pray that God will give you a vision of your heavenly homeland, and a hunger and desire to dwell there whenever God calls you.

Hebrews 11:20 God of the future, we give You our precious children. We entrust them to You with confidence in what You will do in their futures.

Hebrews 11:25 Help me to treasure You. Lord, more than any of the fleeting pleasures of the world in which I live. May my life with You, now and forever, be more important to me than anything that this life has to offer.

Hebrews 11:30 What is your Jericho, a social problem, a trial, a conflict with another person? Pray your way around it with faith, trusting God for results that you cannot yet see.

Jeremiah 3-4; Hebrews 9

Jeremiah 3

Jeremiah 3:1 Thank You Lord, that You are always earnestly, tenderly calling us back to You when we stray into rebellion.

Jeremiah 3:5 Lord, please protect us from a flippant, casual attitude towards sin.

Jeremiah 3:6 Father, in light of this verse showing us of Israel’s adulterous way with other gods. Please make me faithful not fickle.

Jeremiah 3:12 Lord God, You are merciful. Thank You from the depth of my heart for never giving up on me.

Jeremiah 3:22 Thank You for Your call to all of us who have been wayward. Personally I thank You for healing my wayward heart. Now I ask You to keep it trained on You.

Jeremiah 4

Jeremiah 4:1-2 Lord, help us to strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress (Hebrews 12:1), so that we may live a good and honest life, one that is pleasing to You.

Jeremiah 4:3 Take this opportunity to ask God to help you by the power of the Holy Spirit to Plough up any hard ground in your heart and to plant a fruitful crop there.

Jeremiah 4:14 Father, please cleanse my heart and keep it clean, so I will be ready for whatever test or trouble may come next.

Jeremiah 4:17 Let us join our hearts in prayer and pray for those in our family, church and community who are rebelling against God.

Jeremiah 4:22 Lord, this verse says Your children are clever enough at doing wrong, but they have no talent at all for doing right. Please make us amateurs at doing wrong, but professional at doing right, so that all we do or say will bring glory to You.

Hebrews 9

Hebrews 9:1-10 Jesus, cleanse the sanctuary of my heart by Your blood to make it clean, beautiful, and majestic, a worthy place in which to worship the Almighty God.

Hebrews 9:11-12 imagine a grand, majestic sanctuary and picture the glorified Jesus entering to sprinkle His blood. Imagine following Him in and falling on your knees in worship. My dear praying friends after spending the last six days in Jerusalem this is a very vivid picture for me.
I cannot begin to describe to you how much gratitude I feel in my heart for my risen Saviour. He has purchased our redemption! Pause from whatever your doing right now and give Him the praise that is due to Him. Worthy is the LAMB!

Hebrews 9:22 Contemplate Jesus’ tremendous sacrifice on our behalf. By the shedding of His innocent blood, forgiveness of sins is made possible for every single person who believes.
Thank Him for His precious sacrifice and its purifying power.

Hebrews 9:27-28 Satan will do everything to get us distracted from what our Saviour done for us at Calvary, because he knows that distraction is the greatest enemy to God’s direction for our life. Meditate on the truth that Jesus came once for all time and died to pay the penalty that you and I would otherwise still have to pay. Spiritual death.

Jeremiah 1-2; Psalm 123; Hebrews 8

Jeremiah 1

Jeremiah 1:6 Whatever your age, old, young, or in between. Pray that you’ll be faithful to do whatever He asks of you.

Jeremiah 1:7-8 Lord, strengthen me to go wherever You send me and say whatever You tell me, knowing that You will be with me and take care of me.

Jeremiah 1:18-19 Mighty God, thank You for equipping me with spiritual armour (Ephesians 6:11-18) against my enemy. Make me strong like a fortified city that cannot be captured, like an iron pillar or a bronze wall.

Jeremiah 2

Jeremiah 2:1-3 Lord make me as eager to please You today as I was when I first experienced Your love and grace.

Jeremiah 2:8 Father, I don’t want to waste my time on nonsense. Teach me what is truly important in life, and help me concentrate on that.

Jeremiah 2:13 Lord God, You are the fountain of living water; help me never to turn from You in any way.

Jeremiah 2:17 Lord, I know You want to lead me and show me the way. I submit to You today and await Your guidance.

Jeremiah 2:20 How long has it been since The Lord broke the yoke of your sin and tore away the chains of your slavery? Thank Him for that, and for your spiritual growth since then.

Jeremiah 2:31-32 Lord, You have been good and kind to me, You have brought nothing but light into my life. Help me to follow You and serve You gratefully.

Jeremiah 2:35 Lord, I know that if we say we have no sin, we are fooling ourselves and refusing to accept the truth. But if we confess our sins to You, You are faithful to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong (1 John 1:8-9). Thank You, Lord. Amen.

Psalm 123

Psalm 123:1-2 I lift my eyes to You, O God. Let me look to You as attentively as servants keep their eyes on their masters, as faithfully as a slave girl watches her mistress for the slightest signal.

Hebrews 8

Hebrews 8:8-10 Father, how precious this new covenant is, because it means that I can come directly to You as Your child with my needs, my concerns my confessions, and my praise.

Obadiah; 2 Kings 22;23; Psalm 122; Hebrews 7

Obadiah

Obadiah 3 Lord, please save me from a false sense of pride and self sufficiency. May I always depend on You alone, not on any sense of security I have in myself or my own abilities.

Obadiah 6 God, I pray that instead of amassing momentary treasures here on earth, I will concentrate on storing up lasting treasures in heaven, knowing that wherever my treasure is, there my heart and thoughts will also be ( Matthew 6:20-21).

Obadiah 12 Lord, keep me from gloating when I’m doing ok and others are struggling or suffering. Instead, saturate my mind and actions with kindness and compassion, even for those who oppose me or persecute me.

Obadiah 15 Lord, I want to be the kind of person who does good for others, as I would like them to do for me. (Luke 6:31)

Obadiah 21 Lord, please be the King of kings in my life. Rule me in righteousness. May Your kingdom soon come in it’s fulness upon the earth.

2 Kings 22

2 Kings 22:1-2 Josiah’s life gives a glimpse of a true relationship with the Heavenly Father, not just religion. Spend some time today in self examination. Is there any way that your Christianity has degenerated from a sincere relationship to a show of religion? Ask God to forgive you and restore you.

2 Kings 22:11 When Josiah compares the way things are to the way they supposed to be, he grieves and repents before the Lord. Who of us can make the same comparison and not grieve? Take time to repent before God and ask Him to help you get your life in proper order.

2 Kings 22:14-15 Some people downplay a woman’s ability to serve God. But here God uses a female prophet to bring His word to King Josiah. Ask God to clear your mind of any prejudice against any person who brings his Word to you, no matter what gender, race or colour the person is.

2 Kings 23

2 Kings 23:1-3 Father God, just as you used Josiah to lead Your people back to Yourself, use me to lead someone back to You. Send someone my way today, Lord, and I will be faithful to act and speak.

2 Kings 23:4-14 Lord, help us to be as wholly devoted to You as Josiah was. Help me to tear down anything in my life that forms a barrier between You and me. Give me a holy passion for You Lord that spills over into every part of my life and on to every person I meet.

2 Kings 23:15 Josiah does not confine his reform to the kingdom of Judah, but he takes the initiative to restore God’s honour in the fallen nation of Israel. Pray for missionaries throughout the world who tear down the strongholds of the enemy in other lands.

2 Kings 23:16-20 Make me a warrior for right, as king Josiah was, Lord. He doesn’t stop at half measures or at half hearted obedience. He goes all the way in total obedience to You. Make me Your obedient servant, O God.

2 Kings 23:24 Josiah exterminates false gods and those who practice their crafts. Are there false gods in your life? Anything that takes precedence over God in your life is an idol. Ask The Lord to help you exterminate them.

2 Kings 23:25 What an epitaph! ” Never before…….never since” Talk to God today about your love for Him. Ask him to make it an obedient love of heart, soul, and strength.

2 Kings 23:29 Josiah was only 39 years old when he died. Consider all that he accomplished in his short lifetime. Ask the Lord to help you make the most of the life time He has planned for you.

2 Kings 23:32-37 Both of Josiah’s sons are wicked kings, Lord. How does such a devoted man father such wicked sons? Lord, help us as parents! Please make the hearts of our children tender and loving toward You.

Psalm 122

Psalm 122:1 Father, fill us with joy when we enter our place of worship this week. Lord I am looking forward to those wonderful times of praise and prayer with fellow believers.
Together we express our love for You.

Psalm 122:6-7 Lord, You would have it that the bible reading plan for today is the day I am in Jerusalem. I pray as I stand on the soil of this city for the peace of Jerusalem. May there be peace within her walls and prosperity in her homes. May all who love Jerusalem prosper.

Hebrews 7

Hebrews 7:1-15 Praise and adore Jesus, who has come as Melchizedek did the “king of justice” and the ” king of peace” without beginning or end.

Hebrews 7:16-19 Jesus, my High Priest, sometimes we strive for position and possessions that do not last, and we fear things that cannot ultimately hurt us. Help us to truly live in “the power of life that cannot be destroyed.”

Hebrews 7:19-22 Pray that Jesus will take away any inclination to believe you must earn your acceptance before Him. Rest in the confidence that He has made you perfect before Him by His own sacrifice and covenant.

Habakkuk 3; Hebrews 6

Habakkuk 3

Habakkuk 3:2 Lord, I am filled with awe by the amazing things You have done. Help Your Church today in mighty and miraculous ways, as you did in years gone by. Show us Your power. And when You are angry with us, please continue to be a merciful God.

Habakkuk 3:3 I praise You because Your brilliant splendour fills the heavens, and the earth is filled with Your praise! What a wonderful God You are!

Habakkuk 3:17-18 Lord, Habakkuk’s prayer of faith astounds me.While every thing seems to be diminishing, He still rejoicing in You. Sovereign Lord, grant us Your children that sort of faith also, one that survives and praises You no matter what.

Hebrews 6

Hebrews 6:1-3 Pray that God will strengthen your will and desire to act on the rich storehouse of knowledge you already posses so that you will grow and mature in your faith and bear fruit.

Hebrews 6:10 Lord, what encouragement that You will not forget what we have done for You and for others, even though it seems small and inadequate compared to Your great love for us.

Hebrews 6:11 Personalise the writers desire that believers keep loving others as long as their life lasts. Pray that you will always aspire to this goal.

Hebrews 6:18 Holy God, Your unchanging truth is the solid ground on which I place my confidence and trust, that You will bring me to a place of refuge and peace.
I take courage in these things today as I stand looking over the city of Jerusalem and reflect on how You have kept this city.

Hebrews 6:19 Spend some time to meditate on this image.God’s promise of eternal life and hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor that holds you steady in life’s experiences.
