Isaiah 30-31; Proverbs 22:1-16; Matthew 18:1-14

Isaiah 30

Isaiah 30:2 Lord God, let me do nothing without consulting You, let me put my trust only in You.

Isaiah 30:10 Lord give me no patience for lies and false teaching, instead I ask You to give me an ear for the truth and the ability to both hear it and speak it.

Isaiah 30:15 Lord we find ourselves rushing about in the busyness of our lives. O Sovereign Lord, teach me more about what it means to live in the quietness and confidence that is my strength.

Isaiah 30:18 Lord You are a faithful God. I trust You to help me. Instead of becoming impatient and working things out on my own, I wait for Your help. Let Your commanded blessing come upon us as we wait for You, Lord.

Isaiah 30:26 “in the day that the Lord binds up the hurt of His people, and heals their wound [inflicted by Him because of their sins]” Pray for those in your family, church, and community who need healing.

Isaiah 30:30 Pray for God to make His majestic voice heard in society in which you live.

Isaiah 30:33 Lord, you are all powerful to judge and to save. History is in Your hands; I rejoice in Your salvation, Your merciful deliverance from Your holy and terrifying wrath upon sin.

Isaiah 31

Isaiah  31:5 Lord Almighty, hover over Your people as a bird hovers around its nest. Defends Your people, rescue us when danger threatens.

Proverbs 22:1-16

Proverbs 22:7 Lord, I know I cannot serve two masters (Matthew 6:24). Please save all my brothers and sisters from debt, so they can serve You more effectively, without distraction.

Matthew 18:1-14

Matthew 18:3 Search your heart to discover whether worldly sophistication and pride have come between you and God. Ask God to restore in you a humble and childlike faith.

Matthew 18:5-6 Pray for the children in your circle of friends and ask God what specific things you can do or say to introduce them to Jesus or welcome them into the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 18:7-8 Ask god to convict you of any behaviour that may be causing others to sin or that may be obscuring their vision of the kingdom. Confess your sin before God.

Matthew 18:12-14 Lord, help us not to be hard hearted when another soul is welcomed into Your loving fold. Teach us to rejoice with You when one of Your own is found.
