Isaiah 62-64; Psalm 22:1-18; Matthew 27:27-44

Isaiah 62

Isaiah 62:1 For Zion’s sake Isaiah said he will not hold his peace and be silent. Let us have a heart like Isaiah. Yom Kippur began yesterday and continues through today, pray for peace in Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6) and for the salvation of her people Jew and Gentile.

Isaiah 62:2 Thank you Lord, for this verse. As the 67th General Assembly of the United Nations began this week. Many leaders have expressed their concerns about that the arch enemy of the Jewish people will be able to address world leaders on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. The United Nations will have its Annual Debate of the General Assembly from September 25th – October 1st, when all 193 member states will gather in New York to be faced with a unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state. In the next few months your nation will have to decide if it will accept the creation of a new Islamic state in the Middle East with the Old City of Jerusalem (East Jerusalem) as its capital.
Thank You Lord, this verse declares “And the nations shall see your righteousness and vindication ( your rightness and justice – not your own, but His ascribed to you).

Isaiah 62:6-7 Lord, teach me to pray tirelessly and expectantly.

Isaiah 63

Isaiah 63:1-6 Lord, I praise You today as I see judgment against the Lord’s enemies. You are mighty to save! Please show Your strength as You fight for Your chosen people and the church today. Announce Your salvation over the UN meetings this week Lord for Israel

Isaiah 63:7 Lord, I praise You for Your unfailing love, which You demonstrated in Your great goodness to Israel and Your great mercy to me.

Isaiah 63:9 Meditate on how God has lifted you up and carried you through all the years. Thank Him for specific events that come to mind.

Isaiah 63:15 Lord, look down from heaven and see Your people from Your holy, glorious home. Please let Your passion and might be revealed in my life today.

Isaiah 64

Isaiah 64:5 Father, please make me one of those who cheerfully do good, who willingly and quickly follow godly ways.

Psalm 22:1-18

Psalm 22:1-3 Even when we feel forsaken, Lord, You are holy. Your holiness and righteousness do not change with our moods. Help us to trust You even when we don’t feel Your presence.

Psalm 22:9-10 God brought you safely from you mother’s womb. Thank Him that He brought you into existence, and that He has been your God from the moment you were born.

Psalm 22:16-18 Lord Jesus, thank You for Your sacrificial love that was prophesied in these verses (Mark 15:24).

Matthew 27:27-44

Matthew 27:27-31 Jesus, King of Kings and Lord of lords, may my praise and the praises of all your church drown out the words of those who mocked You and spit on You.

Matthew 27:32-33 Today after reflecting on this account the words of the song by Philip P Bliss are appt. “Man of sorrows! what a name for the Son of God who came. Ruined sinners to reclaim! Hallelujah! What a saviour! Hallelujah What a Saviour!
