Esther 1-2; Psalm 133; Revelation 4

Esther 1

Esther 1:10-11 Xerxes’ court sounds a lot like our own culture. Bad decisions are made in a drunken stupor and a woman’s physical beauty measures her worth. Pray for God to lead our culture to a new understanding of self-control and self-worth.

Esther 1:20 Lord, You never intended that women should respect their husbands out of fear of rejection or abuse. Yet many do. The pain and pressure for many within marriage today is overwhelming. Pour out You Spirit on our Land and restore marriage to Your original intent even though man is trying to redefine marriage. Lord Your intent of marriage is a relationship between a man and a woman based on mutual love and respect.

Esther 2

Esther 2:1-4 Rash decisions made in anger rarely lead to good results, unless the Lord intervenes. But Xerxes’ grief over losing his queen advances God’s plan for his people.
Is a recent rash decision causing you or someone you know pain? Ask God to intervene and redeem the situation.

Esther 2:20 We still belong to You Lord, You are holding our right hand. You will keep on guiding us with Your counsel, leading us to a glorious destiny (Psalm 73:23-24).

Psalm 133

Psalm 133:1 Lord, we are told to strive for the unity of the church in all we do. Harmony among family and friends is a wonderful thing, Lord, but it seems like I less and less of it. I pray for unity in my church and family and community.

Revelation 4

Revelation 4:1-5 Picture the throne and the One sitting on it and the brilliant gems that He resembles. Picture the twenty-four thrones around it. Praise and adore the One on the throne.

Revelation 4:8 Holy, holy, holy, are You, Lord God Almighty. You are the One who always was, who is, and who is still to come. Reign as Holy King over all my heart.

Revelation 4:11 You are worthy. O Lord our God, to receive glory and honour and power. You created everything. Everything that exists including me exist for Your pleasure.
