Esther 1-2; Psalm 133; Revelation 4

Esther 1

Esther 1:10-11 Xerxes’ court sounds a lot like our own culture. Bad decisions are made in a drunken stupor and a woman’s physical beauty measures her worth. Pray for God to lead our culture to a new understanding of self-control and self-worth.

Esther 1:20 Lord, You never intended that women should respect their husbands out of fear of rejection or abuse. Yet many do. The pain and pressure for many within marriage today is overwhelming. Pour out You Spirit on our Land and restore marriage to Your original intent even though man is trying to redefine marriage. Lord Your intent of marriage is a relationship between a man and a woman based on mutual love and respect.

Esther 2

Esther 2:1-4 Rash decisions made in anger rarely lead to good results, unless the Lord intervenes. But Xerxes’ grief over losing his queen advances God’s plan for his people.
Is a recent rash decision causing you or someone you know pain? Ask God to intervene and redeem the situation.

Esther 2:20 We still belong to You Lord, You are holding our right hand. You will keep on guiding us with Your counsel, leading us to a glorious destiny (Psalm 73:23-24).

Psalm 133

Psalm 133:1 Lord, we are told to strive for the unity of the church in all we do. Harmony among family and friends is a wonderful thing, Lord, but it seems like I less and less of it. I pray for unity in my church and family and community.

Revelation 4

Revelation 4:1-5 Picture the throne and the One sitting on it and the brilliant gems that He resembles. Picture the twenty-four thrones around it. Praise and adore the One on the throne.

Revelation 4:8 Holy, holy, holy, are You, Lord God Almighty. You are the One who always was, who is, and who is still to come. Reign as Holy King over all my heart.

Revelation 4:11 You are worthy. O Lord our God, to receive glory and honour and power. You created everything. Everything that exists including me exist for Your pleasure.

Ezra 5-6 Psalm 89:30-52 Revelation 3

Ezra 5

Ezra 5:5 Thank You Lord, You watch over Your people then and Your watching over Your people now. Let’s praise Him today for His constancy and care.

Ezra 5:11 In the thick of the struggle, the Jews do not lose sight of their identity and what they are doing. Ask The Lord remind you in a special way that you are a servant of the God of heaven and earth and that you are going about His business this day the 12th day of the 12th month of the year 2012. Twelve speaking of His government! ” Let His Kingdom come and His will be done!”

Ezra 6

Ezra 6:1-2 Darius is careful and faithful in upholding king Cyrus’s decree. Pray that God will strengthen your public officials to be diligent advocates of justice characterised by integrity.

Ezra 6:6-12 The Jews are vindicated, and their enemies are warned. Those who defy God will suffer the consequences. Pray for The Lord to advance the work of the church and to silence it’s enemies.

Ezra 6:14 Inspired preaching strengthens God’s people. Pray for your pastor and leaders and the pastors and leaders in your nation to hear and communicate God’s Word with authority and the power to stir hearts.

Ezra 6:22 Lord, on this significant day in history, I celebrate Your goodness to me. You brought about a victory over sin and death in my life when all seemed lost. You paid the cost and took up my cause before my enemy so I could rebuild my shattered life and take joy in Your presence.

Psalm 89:30-52

Psalm 89:30 Lord, please protect me from forsaking Your law and failing to walk in Your ways. I want to be faithful and obedient to You now and always.

Psalm 89:34 Father, You do not take back a single word You’ve said or any promise You’ve made. Make me like that. Let my word be my bond.

Psalm 89:47 Remind me today, Lord, how short my life is and how empty and futile this human existence is! Let me find purpose in giving my life and energy to things that really matter.

Revelation 3

Revelation 3:1-5 Intercede on behalf of your church and the churches in your community, that those that are nearly dead or dying may awaken and renew their fervour to serve the Lord and purify themselves. Do not be lulled to sleep because of a good reputation. Keep on pressing into Jesus. Make sure you practice the teachings you have received. Obey God’s Word to you.

Revelation 3:8-10 Think about having “little strength” can make you more dependent on Christ. Ask God to help you depend on Him as you persevere in your faith and in your profession of Jesus, even when many around you surrender to the world’s values.

Revelation 3:15-16 When you meditate on these verses, does your heart convict you of complacency and lukewarm faith? Avoid lukewarmness, stir up your zeal for The Lord? Pray that God will renew your zeal and your spiritual fervour so that you can serve Him faithfully.

Revelation 3:17-19 Do not value worldly success. Do not trust worldly wealth. Repent wherever you have done these things. Recognise that worldly assets have no spiritual or heavenly value! Return to a spiritual value system wherever you have departed. Repent quickly whenever the Spirit convicts you of sin, and you will see His Kingdom come and His will done in your life.

Zechariah 7-8;Psalm 7;Revelation 2

Zechariah 7

Zechariah 7:2 Lord, help me to contemplate what it means to me personally to seek and then receive Your favour.

Zechariah 7:4-7 Holy Spirit, help us to make sure that when we fast our motives are unselfish. May our fasting be accompanied with attitudes and actions of righteousness and obedience.

Zechariah 7:6 Lord, please help me to think less and less of pleasing myself and more and more about how to please You.

Zechariah 7:10 Pray for widows, orphans, foreigners, and poor people in your church and community. Ask The Lord to give you specific thoughts on how you can help them.

Zechariah 7:11-12 May our ears be open to prophetic or solemn warnings. May The Lord grant us the understanding that not to do so can result in calamity.

Zechariah 8

Zechariah 8:2 O God, thank You that Your love for me is passionate and strong, like Your love for mount Zion.

Zechariah 8:6 Lord, in light of this beautiful verse help us to remember, even when we are down and discouraged, that nothing is impossible for You. Nothing!

Zechariah 8:10 Lord, just like in time that this refers to where building your house, You bless Your people with jobs and wages for working. I pray You will do it again Lord for those who are making a stand for You. I pray for more jobs and better wages for Your people.

Zechariah 8:13 Father, thank You for rescuing us from sin and death. I pray that our lives and actions will be a symbol to others of what Your love can do and a source of blessing for them.

Zechariah 8:16-17 Lord, help us to practice honesty, truth, integrity, and justice in all our dealings. Help us to examine our hearts, and to avoid any form of insincerity or hypocrisy. Help us to hate what You hate and do only what pleases You.

Zechariah 8:23 Lord, please make our lives such a testimony of Your power and grace that people will say, “please let us walk with you because we heard that God is with you.”

Psalm 7

Psalm 7:1 Let us look to You for protection, O Lord our God. Let us rely on Your strength and not our own.

Psalm 7:3-4 O Lord my God, if I have done wrong or am guilty of injustice, if I have betrayed a friend or been unjust even toward an enemy, please convict me now, and lead me to repentance. I wait on You, Lord.

Psalm 7:9 You look deep within my mind and heart, O righteous God. You know me better than I know myself. Search me today and cleanse me from my sin.

Psalm 7:12-16 Are you making plans that are not compatible with God’s justice and mercy? Understand that allowing evil to develop in your heart will result in disillusionment and bring unnecessary trouble into your life. Pray for God’s wisdom and for pure motives.

Psalm 7:17 Thank You, Lord, because You are always fair and just. May our hearts and mouths be full of praise to Your name Lord Most High.

Revelation 2

Revelation 2:2-7 Give your love for Jesus first place in your life. Commit yourself both emotionally and intellectually to Christ and develop your spiritual ear. Pray God’s passion will fuel in you a fire of love for Him, the fervent kind of love we experienced when we first believed. Lord help our love for You to remain a constant flame that never dims or dies.

Revelation 2:9-11 Pray for courage and faithfulness as you go through difficult times of trial and testing. Be faithful to Jesus when confronted with persecution. Pray for boldness as you live out your faith and as you share the Good News in your community.

Revelation 2:13 Ask God to show you how you can be “in the world” without being “of the world,” how to dialogue with nonbelievers without compromising your Christian values. Never renounce faith in Jesus.

Revelation 2:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends You, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. (Psalm 139:23-24)
