Isaiah 62-64; Psalm 22:1-18; Matthew 27:27-44

Isaiah 62

Isaiah 62:1 For Zion’s sake Isaiah said he will not hold his peace and be silent. Let us have a heart like Isaiah. Yom Kippur began yesterday and continues through today, pray for peace in Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6) and for the salvation of her people Jew and Gentile.

Isaiah 62:2 Thank you Lord, for this verse. As the 67th General Assembly of the United Nations began this week. Many leaders have expressed their concerns about that the arch enemy of the Jewish people will be able to address world leaders on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. The United Nations will have its Annual Debate of the General Assembly from September 25th – October 1st, when all 193 member states will gather in New York to be faced with a unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state. In the next few months your nation will have to decide if it will accept the creation of a new Islamic state in the Middle East with the Old City of Jerusalem (East Jerusalem) as its capital.
Thank You Lord, this verse declares “And the nations shall see your righteousness and vindication ( your rightness and justice – not your own, but His ascribed to you).

Isaiah 62:6-7 Lord, teach me to pray tirelessly and expectantly.

Isaiah 63

Isaiah 64

Isaiah 64:5 Father, please make me one of those who cheerfully do good, who willingly and quickly follow godly ways.

Isaiah 58-59; Matthew 26:57-75

Isaiah 58

Isaiah 58:1-4 Lord, in light of these verses please deliver me from any pretence. Help me never to make a show of coming to You. Make my inner motives as pure as my outward actions.

Isaiah 58:6-7 Dear Lord help us to compare our conduct with these verses. Please correct any shortcomings in our behaviour towards others.

Isaiah 58:10-11 Lord, thank You for this wonderful promise to those who feed the hungry and help those in trouble. I want to be that beautiful garden, Lord well watered and growing. I want to be like an ever flowing stream.

Isaiah 59

Isaiah 59:3-4 Father God, will You have mercy upon us and send Your mighty Holy Spirit power, to break Satan’s influence to put lies in our minds and mouths. This causes us not to speak the truth at all times and brings pain to You and ourselves.
Lord let the spirit of lying be loosed from everyone of our hearts. We love You Lord and know that You shed Your precious blood and redeemed us from the curse so that we could live free from the power of the curse. I cry out to You today for freedom for us Your children, that satan the father of lies will have no influence over us in anyway.

Isaiah 59:6-7 Pray for God to prevent violence and murder in your community.

Isaiah 59:15 Lord, Your Word says everyone who tries to live godly will be attacked. I ask for Your divine protection from every assignment of the evil one satan. I know the attacks will come because we try to live a godly life, but You are our defence.

Isaiah 59:21 Lord please let Your Word be on my lips and on the lips of my children and my children’s children forever.

Matthew 26:57-75

Matthew 26:69-75 Help us Lord, to seek Your forgiveness for those times when we should have spoken a word of truth that identified us as Christ’s followers but we chose to remain silent.

Isaiah 56-57; Psalm 41; Matthew 26:36-56

Isaiah 56

Isaiah 56:1 Lord, make me just and fair to all. Help me to do what is right and good which is in conformity to Your will which brings salvation.

Isaiah 56:7 Even You said of the Nations, ” I will bring them also to My Holy mountain of Jerusalem and will fill them with joy in My house of prayer” I ask You to increase the prayerfulness of our church. May it be a house of prayer.

Isaiah 56:10-11 Pray for the integrity and spiritual vitality of the shepherds in your church and around the world.

Isaiah 57

Isaiah 57:1-2 Lord, the righteous pass away; the godly often die before their time. And no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come. But I thank You that the godly who die will rest in peace. Please protect the righteous from evil in whatever way You, in Your wisdom, choose.

Isaiah 57:12 Lord once again I confess openly that nothing that I have done can save me, but only the loving sacrifice of Jesus. Jesus, thank You for dying so that I can live.

Isaiah 57:15 Lord, You are the High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity. You are the Holy One. Please make my spirit contrite and humble. Refresh me and give new courage to my repentant heart. Even as we approach Yom Kippur the day of atonement for Jews around the whole world. Where they will be repenting for their sins. Lord please reveal Yourself as Yeshua on the this significant day. Lord I know personally that repentance brings refreshment. When we pray with passion, we come boldly before Your throne in heaven and storm the gates of hell. It’s a battle and it cost more than simply time out of our day, it exacts a price. Lord I know that honest, passionate prayer can drain us physically, emotionally, and spiritually. This verse reminds me how we remain strong. You pour out refreshment and new courage when we pray with humility and contrition.

Coming to our heavenly Father in humility reminds us that the weight of the world isn’t on our shoulders but on His. Repentance enables us to relinquish our need to be in control so we can move forward again, unhindered and refreshed, with new power and perspective.

Isaiah 57:18-19 Lord, we pray that You will lead and comfort those who mourn. May they know Your peace and healing power.

Psalm 41

Psalm 41:1-2 Lord, I pray for the poor in my Nation, protect them. Show me how to be kind to them and bring joy to Your heart.

Psalm 41:11 Lord, this is the place I want to be, so give me the kind of assurance that I can say. “I know that You are pleased with me.”

Matthew 26:36-56

Matthew 26:41 Jesus, just as You asked Your disciples to keep alert and pray with You in the garden, You have called me to keep alert and pray before You come (Luke 21:36). Strengthen me Lord, for my spirit is willing though my body is often weak.

Matthew 26:52 You could have called thousands of angels to protect You, Lord Jesus, yet you choose to drink the cup of suffering for me. I stand in awe because You love me so much.
