Isaiah 24-25; Proverbs 20:16-30; Matthew 16:13-28

Isaiah 24

Isaiah 24:5-6. Deliver me, Lord God, from the temptation to twist Your instructions and violate Your laws. Give me instead a heart that is willing to obey and a mind that takes Your instructions and follows them.

Isaiah 24:14-16. I praise Your majesty, Lord. I join Your people in the east and the west, all over the globe in praising You. Hallelujah!

Isaiah 24:23 The sun is far too bright to look at without some kind of filter. Yet the brightness will be considered dull compared to God’s glory at the establishment of His kingdom in full. Pray that God’s kingdom will come in your lifetime.

Isaiah 25

Isaiah 25:1. Honour and praise God for the things that have happened in Your life, family, church, and community. Things God planned long ago that now, and about to come to past.

Isaiah 25:7-8 NLT “In that day He will remove the cloud of gloom, the shadow of death that hangs over the earth. 8 He will swallow up death forever! The Sovereign Lord will wipe away all tears. He will remove forever all insults and mockery against His land and people. The Lord has spoken.” Christ has conquered death through His own suffering and death in your place. Offer Him praise and thanks for the sacrifice He has made so that you could have life eternally.

Proverbs 20:16-30

Proverbs 20:19. NLT “A gossip tells secrets, so don’t hang around with someone who talks too much.”. Lord, guard my tongue; help me to steer clear of the sin of gossip. I don’t want to hear it or be the one to spread it. Make me sensitive to the times when it’s best to keep my mouth shut.

Proverbs 20:22. NLT. “Don’t say, I will get even for this wrong. Wait for the Lord to handle the matter.” Dear Lord, You have promised to repay those who deserve it (Deuteronomy 32:35). Help me to trust You and wait for You to handle such matters.

Matthew 16:13-28

Matthew 16:16 Dear Jesus, like Peter I openly acknowledge and confess that You are the Messiah, the Christ, the Son of he living God. I am in awe today that You are my Saviour, and I love You.

Matthew 16:23. Pray that you learn, in the power of the Holy Spirit, to see things from God’s heavenly perspective rather than from your own very human point of view.

Matthew 16:24-28. On this brand new day that the Lord has made, say a prayer of dedication or rededication offering control and ownership of your own life to Jesus Christ, to use as He sees fit.

Isaiah 22-23; Proverbs 20:1-15; Matthew 16:1-12

Isaiah 22

Isaiah 22:1-4 Though you may agree that God’s judgment is always right, pray that your heart will always remain soft so that when God’s people are disciplined, you will respond with intercession rather than indifference.

Isaiah 22:11 Lord, keep me from making frantic plans that don’t involve You. Instead, give me insight into Your plans, and help me to follow your design.

Isaiah 22:16 Father, please let me build monuments in Your honour with my life, not vain monuments to my own life for my own glory.

Isaiah 22:23-24 Lord, please let my life and actions bring honour to You and be an example to my family and to others that look at my life.

Isaiah 23

Isaiah 23:1-7 Father, help me never to put undue confidence in empires that people establish; in a moment they are toppled and new ones emerge. Thank You that Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom of righteousness and life.

Isaiah 23:8-9 Lord, help me to be unimpressed with so-called human greatness. Let me instead be consistently impressed by godly character and humility.

Isaiah 23:14-18 Precious Lord, when I read these verses I see once again that Your patience is unfathomable. I praise You because You demonstrate Your mercy and grace over and over again. And when sinful people persist in their sin despite Your mercy, You are able even to turn the results of their rebellion into instruments for Your glory.

Proverbs 20

Proverbs 20:1 Pray for friends or loved ones who struggle with addictions. Ask God to keep them from being led astray by drink or other intoxicants.

Proverbs 20:9 Lord in reading this verse I cannot say I am without sin! But I trust in Your unfailing love and Your willingness to forgive my sin and make me pure. Thank You, Lord for who you are and who You’re making me to be.

Matthew 16

Matthew 16:1-4 Jesus may my eyes and ears be so open to see and hear You that I don’t need miracles or special revelations to know Your holy presence in my heart.

Matthew 16:5-12 Pray that the Word of God will so permeate your heart and mind that you will recognize and discern hypocritical and erroneous teaching when you hear it.

Isaiah 20, Proverbs 19, Matthew 15

Isaiah 20

Isaiah 20:2  Lord make my life and conduct an object lesson to those around me, drawing them to You. Even if You require something difficult or embarrassing, let me do it willing, all for You and Your glory.

Proverbs 19

Proverbs 19:18  Dear parent, please ask God to give you wisdom in raising and disciplining your children. Tell the Lord how inadequate you feel as a parent at times. Ask Him for His guidance today!

Proverbs 19:21  If you desire to go all the way in serving the Lord, then pray this prayer. Lord, I submit all my hopes and plans to You; let Your purpose prevail in my life. Only Your will for me, Lord only Your holy will.

Matthew 15

Matthew 15:30  Regard this passage as an invitation to bring before God the names of those you know who are in need of His healing touch.

Matthew 15:32  Ask the Lord if there is anything you can do to join Him in His compassionate work of feeding the hungry. Ask Him to multiply any gifts you may contribute to this cause as He multiplied the loaves and fish.

Isaiah 19, Proverbs 19 and Matthew 15:1-20

Isaiah 19

Isaiah 19:5-10 Dear heavenly Father, all of creation is at Your disposal as You deal out judgment upon sinful nations. How we long for the day when, by Your grace, Your people will live in the harmony and holiness of the beautiful, new creation.

Isaiah 19:19 Make this your prayer today. Lord, let my be an altar to You, and make my life Your monument so that others will come to know and honour You through their contact with me.

Isaiah 19:21-22 Lord, You are merciful. I know I need disciplining, and I accept it. But, please, when You must discipline me, do so in a way that will bring healing.

Proverbs 19

Proverbs 19:3 Father, may I never blame You for the consequences of my own foolishness. Please protect my life and help me to act wisely in all I do.

Matthew 15:1-20

Matthew 15:1-6 Pray that the Holy Spirit will live in you in such a way that you’ll fulfill the spirit and meaning of God’s commands rather than perform the letter of the law out of tradition or human pride.

Matthew 15:8-9 Offer a sacrifice of praise to God. Ask Him to purify your heart so that your worship is not composed of empty words, but comes from a heart truly in love with Him.

Matthew 15:18-19 Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. May the words of my mouth reflect Your holiness. (Psalm 51:10)

Prayer fuel from Isaiah 14 to 17, Proverbs 18 and Matthew 14

Isaiah 14

Isaiah 14: 1 Lord as You said and did long ago, have mercy today on Your people around the world. Mightily restore Your church so that it can live up to Your calling.

Isaiah 14:2 “ The nations of the world will help the Lord’s people to return, and those who come to live in their land will serve them. Those who captured Israel will be captured, and Israel will rule over its enemies.” Amen! So be it, Lord

Isaiah 14:12-17 Praise God that the arrogant, oppressive rulers who spread death, destruction, and injustice upon the earth will one day face the righteous judgment of God.

Isaiah 14:22-23 Heavenly Father when we look around us it seems like those who don’t follow You have more control and influence in this world than those who do. Cut off their power and evil influence today. Make men influence for good.

Isaiah 14:24 Lord, let everything happen as You have planned, that Your will be done here on earth, just as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10)

Isaiah 15

Isaiah 15:5 Dear Lord give us soft tender hearts to weep for those who are suffering, even when they are getting what they deserve. Help us to understand that if we were to get what we deserved we would not be here today. But you saved us and wash us through the blood and have filled us with Your Spirit. As we see the suffering that sin brings to a nation give us Your heart.

Isaiah 16

Isaiah 16:5 Lord I praise You because, while all other thrones in history have been taken by force or murder, You will establish David’s throne by love.

Isaiah 17

Isaiah 17:1 You always graciously warn of Your coming wrath Lord. Please help me to heed Your warnings in my life.

Isaiah 17:7-8 The enemy of our soul uses everything to distract us from focusing on our God. We ask you to make us quick to think of You our Creator, and have proper respect for You. I declare I want You to be first in my mind. I pray that the things that may cause a busy life will not so fill my mind that You are left out. Help me, Lord!

Isaiah 18

Isaiah 18:7 Thank the Lord that His anger is often temporary, leading rebellious people to change their ways. Thank Him because He often restores what had been made desolate through sin.

Proverbs 18

Proverbs 18:4 We pray that our words would be as fresh and life-giving as the water from a bubbling brook. May what I say refresh others and give them renewed strength.

Proverbs 18:10 Thank You Lord my God, Your name is a strong fortress; the godly run to You and are safe. I trust you for my safety and security today.

Proverbs 18:24 We thank You Lord God, for the friend we have in Jesus, a friend who sticks closer than a brother, a friend who laid down His life for us. (John 15:13)

Matthew 14

Matthew 14:13-21 Consider how Jesus put aside His grief for His cousin, John the Baptist, in order to care for people. Thank Him for how He loves you and meets Your needs in the same compassionate way.

Matthew 14:22-32 Ask Jesus if there is some way in which He wants you to step out in faith toward Him. Pray for His guidance and for faith to keep your eyes on Him.

Matthew 14;33 Lord on this wonderful day You have made, with Your disciples I exclaim, “You really are the Son of God!” May I be forever amazed at who You are and what You’ve done.
