Isaiah 24-25; Proverbs 20:16-30; Matthew 16:13-28

Isaiah 24

Isaiah 24:5-6. Deliver me, Lord God, from the temptation to twist Your instructions and violate Your laws. Give me instead a heart that is willing to obey and a mind that takes Your instructions and follows them.

Isaiah 24:14-16. I praise Your majesty, Lord. I join Your people in the east and the west, all over the globe in praising You. Hallelujah!

Isaiah 24:23 The sun is far too bright to look at without some kind of filter. Yet the brightness will be considered dull compared to God’s glory at the establishment of His kingdom in full. Pray that God’s kingdom will come in your lifetime.

Isaiah 25

Isaiah 25:1. Honour and praise God for the things that have happened in Your life, family, church, and community. Things God planned long ago that now, and about to come to past.

Isaiah 25:7-8 NLT “In that day He will remove the cloud of gloom, the shadow of death that hangs over the earth. 8 He will swallow up death forever! The Sovereign Lord will wipe away all tears. He will remove forever all insults and mockery against His land and people. The Lord has spoken.” Christ has conquered death through His own suffering and death in your place. Offer Him praise and thanks for the sacrifice He has made so that you could have life eternally.

Proverbs 20:16-30

Proverbs 20:19. NLT “A gossip tells secrets, so don’t hang around with someone who talks too much.”. Lord, guard my tongue; help me to steer clear of the sin of gossip. I don’t want to hear it or be the one to spread it. Make me sensitive to the times when it’s best to keep my mouth shut.

Proverbs 20:22. NLT. “Don’t say, I will get even for this wrong. Wait for the Lord to handle the matter.” Dear Lord, You have promised to repay those who deserve it (Deuteronomy 32:35). Help me to trust You and wait for You to handle such matters.

Matthew 16:13-28

Matthew 16:16 Dear Jesus, like Peter I openly acknowledge and confess that You are the Messiah, the Christ, the Son of he living God. I am in awe today that You are my Saviour, and I love You.

Matthew 16:23. Pray that you learn, in the power of the Holy Spirit, to see things from God’s heavenly perspective rather than from your own very human point of view.

Matthew 16:24-28. On this brand new day that the Lord has made, say a prayer of dedication or rededication offering control and ownership of your own life to Jesus Christ, to use as He sees fit.
