1 Chron 4:24–5:26, 1 Tim 4:1–5, Ps 78:1–12

Daily-Reading-Banner

And when they prevailed over them, the Hagrites and all who were with them were given into their hands, for they cried out to God in the battle, and he granted their urgent plea because they trusted in him. 1 Chronicles 5:20 (ESV)

These men were mighty and valiant men, this was not only true physically but spiritually as well. They put their faith and trust in God and cried out to God in the middle of the battle, God heard and graciously granted their request. We must learn from this to be valiant in our spirits and minds.

We must put our trust and faith in God. We must open our mouths in the middle of the battle and cry out to God. see John 14:1, 1 Thessalonians 5:17 and Ephesians 6:10–18

Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 1 Timothy 4:1 (ESV)

We must still be aware of this today, ever since Jesus came the last days have been in motion and we have seen the teachings of demons in blatant areas in institutions like the Roman Catholic church with its “Veneration” of Mary or the Watchtower Society who say Jesus is just an Angel to modern day distortions and inversions of the truth in things like the New Age and the Word of Faith Movement.

These false teaching often rely on legalistic frameworks to keep its adherents in bondage which is why they in some cases insist on celibacy and in others an over emphasis on spiritual exercises like fasting or even being away from normal life and people (monks etc).

We should avoid these sort error and extremism.

For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 1 Timothy 4:4 (ESV)

God’s created order with things like marriage and food should bring us great pleasure and bring God great glory as we enjoy these things in thanksgiving and honour to him.

Our faith is not just spiritual it has a very real part to play and affect on the physical world which does not belong to the devil and was created by God. We should avoid all suable forms of Gnosticism which says the spiritual is good and the physical is evil, the bible does not teach that, the physical and spiritual all belong to and were created by God.

We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done. Psalm 78:4 (ESV)

We must preserve and spread our faith by teaching it to our Children so that they too will know God in their generation.

Enlarge my coast

daily-prayer-fuel

1 Chronicles 3

3:1 “Now these were sons of David who were born to him in Hebron.” Although all of David’s descendants had royal blood, few lived up to their godly calling. Whether or not you know much about your family heritage, God does. Ask Him to stir up and use the best of your familial attributes in your life.

3:9 David’s daughter Tamar’s story is one of loss and sadness as you can read in 2 Samuel 13:1-22). Women are still victimized today like Tamar was back then. My heart goes out again to those Nigerian school girls who have been abducted in North eastern Nigeria by Boko Haram.

Let us continue to pray for them and pray for those who fail to reach their potential because someone damaged them at an early age.

1 Chronicles 4

4:9-10 Jabez pleads with God to move his life beyond the meaning of his name and the painful circumstances of his birth. God honours his prayer. Do you feel that you are living out someone else’s expectations of you and not God’s? Talk to Him about it.

4:14 Thank the Lord today for whatever gifts and abilities He has given you. If you feel you have no gifts or abilities, don’t believe it! Ask God to reveal to you your gifts and talents. Then use them for His glory. “16 A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men.” Proverbs 18:16

Rebuke Destiny Killers

2 Corinthians 10:3-6 3 For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons.

4 For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds,

5 [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One),

6 Being in readiness to punish every [insubordinate for his] disobedience, when your own submission and obedience [as a church] are fully secured and complete.

The weapons of the Christian’s warfare are the most powerful on earth. They can can demolish all attackers of your destiny who are trying to prevent you from reaching your goal in life.

The devil seeks to destroy the destiny of the children of God. He and his agents have devised many means of disrupting the destiny of the children of God.

When Jesus was born, Herod (the spirit that kills things in infancy) tried to kill Him. Joseph was warned by an angel to take Him to Egypt, so His life was spared.

Confession

Obadiah 1:17 “17 “But on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, And there shall be holiness; The house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.”

O Lord let my divine destiny appear and let perverted destiny disappear. In Jesus name.

I refuse to live below my divine standard, in Jesus name.

Every evil power having negative awareness of my destiny, be impotent, in the name of Jesus.

I paralyse every destiny polluter in my life, in Jesus name.

Every damage done to my destiny, be repaired now in Jesus name.

The enemy will not convert my body or destiny to rags, in the name of Jesus.

O Lord, restore me to Your original design for my life.

O Lord, enlarge my coast.

I refuse to operate below my divine destiny, in the name of Jesus

Every power contending with my divine destiny, scatter unto desolation, in the name of Jesus.

Let the Holy Spirit of excellence come upon me, in Jesus name.

Satan, I resist and rebuke your efforts to change my destiny, in Jesus name.

Satan, I remove from you the right to rob me of my divine destiny, in Jesus name.

I command all powers of darkness assigned to my destiny to leave right now and never to return in Jesus name. Amen

1 Chron 3:1–4:23, 1 Tim 3:8–16, Ps 77:1–20

Daily-Reading-Banner

These were born to him in Jerusalem: Shimea, Shobab, Nathan and Solomon, four by Bath-shua, the daughter of Ammiel; 1 Chronicles 3:5 (ESV)

David is an example to us because of his faith in God, his courage, his heart to praise and worship God and to repent.

However we have just counted 7 wives. David is an example of how to be a bad father and husband.

From the very beginning God had intended man to have only one wife for life  as stated in Genesis 2:24. God also warned the children of Israel of the abusive way that kings would take many wives, in Deuteronomy 17:17 God commands kings not to do this.

The consequences of the breaking of these laws had dire consequences in David’s very fragmented family.

We see this problem in today’s society where men have a number of children by different women which was never God’s design and cause frustration and pain to all involved.

As Christians we must seek to uphold the Christian marriage and family in the midst of a culture which seeks to erode the place of the family and seeks to redefine marriage. See Ephesians 5:25 and Ephesians 6:4

Jabez was more honorable than his brothers; and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.” Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain!” And God granted what he asked. 1 Chronicles 4:9–10 (ESV)

Contrary to the belief of naturalism and evolution we are not all just insignificant numbers, each one of us is precious in the sight of God. Jesus said that the very hairs of our heads are numbered in Luke 12:7. We matter to God despite the lies of the enemy. Jabez boldly stands out from the crowd.

In Jesus we can have the boldness and confidence in God to approach God and ask him to bless us like Jabez. Jesus said “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” in Matthew 21:22 and in John 14:13 “and Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

Later in James 4:3 we are reminded that when we ask we must do so in the right spirit “You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.

So lets ask God in faith today.

Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory. 1 Timothy 3:16 (ESV)

Paul has just outlined the qualifications of church leaders and has given his reason for doing so in verse 15 where he states that we should know how to conduct ourselves as the church and declares the Church should be a pillar and buttress of truth.

Now with this ancient hymn about Christ we hear a wonderful summary of that truth found in the gospel message. This is the truth the church must uphold and defend

Your way, O God, is holy. What god is great like our God? You are the God who works wonders; you have made known your might among the peoples. Psalm 77:13–14 (ESV)

Only our God is the true God, he proves it through his wonderful acts

Breaking every evil flow

daily-prayer-fuel

1 Chronicles 2

2:3 Praise God for King David and King Jesus, born to the tribe of Judah: Genesis 49:8-10 “8 Judah, you are the one whom your brothers shall praise; your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; your father’s sons shall bow down to you. 9 Judah, a lion’s cub! With the prey, my son, you have gone high up [the mountain]. He stooped down, he crouched like a lion, and like a lioness—who dares provoke and rouse him? 10 The scepter or leadership shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until Shiloh [the Messiah, the Peaceful One] comes to Whom it belongs, and to Him shall be the obedience of the people.”

2:13-15 David was the least of Jesse’s sons but the first in God’s heart.
Pray for the Lord’s favour to overcome any limitation the world wants to put on you or your brothers and sisters in Christ.

2:22 As citizens concerned about who rules our town and city and nation, ask God to send godly politicians to fill positions of authority in our Land.

Break the flow of evil over your life: We cut off a very evil hereditary river flowing down from ancestors. This day we declare deliverance from territorial spirits and hereditary bondage.

Israel was able to contain the evil flow of curses determined on them in the wilderness by Balaam as we read in numbers 23, because she was in good relationship with God. When you are living right with God according to the gospel, your prayer will be powerful enough to prevent any flow of evil into your life.

Romans 8:15 “15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

The day you got born again was the day you received the power to break every evil yoke and cut off every evil flow. “12 But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name.” John 1:12. God has given us POWER to become His sons and daughters. That means that every satanic flow in your life has to be cut off and destroyed by this power so that you can flow in the Spirit of God and take on the nature of God. Every negative ancestral covenant and inherited bondage has to break this morning. We have a new Father! God is our Father (Matthew 23:9)

Confession Today

Galatians 3:13-14 “13 Christ purchased our freedom [redeeming us] from the curse (doom) of the Law [and its condemnation] by [Himself] becoming a curse for us, for it is written [in the Scriptures], Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree (is crucified); 14 To the end that through [their receiving] Christ Jesus, the blessing [promised] to Abraham might come upon the Gentiles, so that we through faith might [all] receive [the realization of] the promise of the [Holy] Spirit.

Thank God for making provision for deliverance from any form of bondage.

I release myself from any inherited bondage, in the name of Jesus.

I release myself from the grip of any problem transferred into my life from the womb, in the name of Jesus.

I break and loose myself from every inherited evil covenant, in the name of Jesus.

I release myself from every inherited disease, in the name of Jesus.

I break all the curses of deformity, infirmity and sickness in and over my family, in the name of Jesus.

Let God arise over my life and put to flight every mind controlling-spirit, in the name of Jesus.

I command the spirit of death and hell to loose its hold upon my life, in the name of Jesus.

O Lord, send Your axe of fire to the foundation of my life and destroy every evil plantation.

Today I take authority over and order the binding of every strongman in every department of my life, in the name of Jesus Christ The son Of The Living God. Amen

1 Chron 2:1–55, 1 Tim 3:1–7, Ps 75:1–76:12

Daily-Reading-Banner

The sons of Judah: Er, Onan and Shelah; these three Bath-shua the Canaanite bore to him. Now Er, Judah’s firstborn, was evil in the sight of the LORD, and he put him to death. 1 Chronicles 2:3 (ESV)

We just had an amazing early morning prayer meeting, Pastor Dennis led us from today’s reading focusing on this verse, showing us that God’s plan is to break the flow of evil in our lives as he did in the line of Judah… it was awesome, the slides will be available on the site and app today.

Ozem the sixth, David the seventh. 1 Chronicles 2:15 (ESV)

God choose David to be the line through which he would bring Jesus the Messiah, it is significant that he is the 7th son.

In one sense this makes him the least likely as the honour would usually be given to the firstborn. In another sense the number 7 speaks of God’s perfect and complete choice.

God shows his providence and sovereignty even over the tribe of Judah and the line of David, God chooses and orchestrates lives from generation to generation to bring his great promise to pass. Jesus is the Lion of the tribe of Judah. See Revelation 5:5

Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s church? 1 Timothy 3:2–5 (ESV)

Our post-modern culture pays no respect to experience, qualification, rules or structure. This mindset has infiltrated areas of the church and we must guard against it. Paul makes very clear the required qualifications for an overseer (other words for this include Pastor or Elder).

We should not try to throw any of these qualifications away in favour of modern philosophies and trends, we should hold to this very practical and faithful scripture for the sake of the Church for whom Christ died.

We should thank God that we have leaders that meet the requirements and pray that churches where the leadership is lacking or just plain wrong would submit to this scripture which will lead to the flourishing of God’s people

but it is God who executes judgment, putting down one and lifting up another. Psalm 75:7 (ESV)

We saw this in our OT reading today, as Pastor Dennis showed us in verse 3, God put down one and in verse 15 put one up. Promotion comes from the Lord, he is our sovereign king and we should trust him to exalt us in due time remembering 1 Peter 5:6–7 “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”
