Prayer fuel from Isaiah 48-49; Proverbs 28:1-14;Matthew 25:1-30

Isaiah 48

Isaiah 48:4 Father, I read today about Your stubborn people, help me not to be stubborn and obstinate, please heal me from all hardheadedness.

Isaiah 48:10 Lord, wherever suffering has to be in my life, please use it to refine me and not break me. I know I need refining, Lord, but offering myself to Your refining fire is frightening at times. But my true desire is to become more like You, whatever the cost.

Isaiah 48:13 It was Your hand that laid the foundations of the earth. The palm of Your right hand spread out the heavens above, You spoke, and they came into being. You are an awesome God! I look around me at what You have created, the earth and the heavens and everything in them. I praise You for Your power displayed in creation.

Isaiah 48:17 Just as He spoke to Israel telling them, I am the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is good and leads you along the paths you should follow. Spend sometime meditating on this verse. God is willing and ready to show you the way that is best for you, the way He wants you to go. Ask Him to help you recognise that way and then walk faithfully in it.

Isaiah 49

Isaiah 49:4 Lord, thank You, Your Word has quickened me again this morning. When sometimes it seems our work is useless and we think we have spent our strength for nothing and to no purpose at all, help us to know we can leave it all in Your hand and trust You for our reward.

Isaiah 49:8 Lord, You always respond at the right time. Please help me have the patience to wait on Your timing and trust Your loving wisdom.

Isaiah 49:14 Pray for those who feel deserted and forgotten by God. Ask God to give them some reassuring encouragement that He is present with them no matter what they are going through.

Isaiah 49:23 I wait for You Lord. I listen to You so that I will never be ashamed. Lord let this be the stance that every blood washed child of God takes today, so Satan’s power to bring shame and disgrace to Your church will be broken. I agree with Your Word today and make a stand.

Isaiah 49:26 As this verse closes this chapter meditate on the names of the Lord recorded here; your Saviour, Redeemer, the Mighty One of Israel. Take time to contemplate what each one means to you personally and be blessed.

Proverbs 28:1-14

Proverbs 28:1 Lord you told us this year that You, the Lion of the tribe of Judah would roar through Your church again. Give us the courage to boldly declare the Good News about Jesus Christ, even when we are surrounded by skepticism or opposition (1 Thessalonians 2:2)

Proverbs 28:9 “The prayers of a person who ignores the law are despised.” Lord, let my prayers be consistent with the way I live my life.

Proverbs 28:14 Lord, help me to live in reverence to You so I can know true happiness. Please keep me away from stubbornness and hard heartedness.

Matthew 25:1-30

Matthew 25:13 We want to always be ready, Lord, for Your return. We know it could come at any moment, but we also know we often live as if it will never come. Redirect our thinking and our lifestyle to reflect the possibility of Your imminent return.

Matthew 25:14-30 Ask the Lord how He wants you to invest the time, talents, and resources He has given you. Ask Him if there is anything that needs to be done today.

Isaiah 46-47; Proverbs 27:14-27; Matthew 29-51

Isaiah 46

Isaiah 46:2 Lord, thank you for Your word today. It gives me a clear picture of what happens to us when we create idols in our lives. As we see in this verse both the idols and the ones carrying them are bowed down. The gods cannot protect the people, and the people cannot protect the gods. They go off into captivity together. I declare today that the power of the Holy Spirit will in power me to dismantle and destroy every idolatrous thing that has found it’s way into this glorious temple my body, which is for You and You only.

Isaiah 46:3-4 Dear heavenly Father, thank You for Your constant care since before I was born. Thank You for promising to be my God as long as I live, even until I’m very old. Carry me along and save me, Lord.

Isaiah 47

Isaiah 47:4 Lord Almighty, my Redeemer, thank You for your sweet presence that fills this room this morning as You speak to me through Your Word. You have conquered my heart. I submit to You and bow before You as Your willing subject.

Isaiah 47:8 That sounds like my world, Lord! I live in a pleasure-crazy culture, with people who are at ease and feel secure, bragging as if they are the greatest in the world! Please protect me from being squeezed into the mould.

Isaiah 47:13 Pray for those who look to astrologers and psychics for guidance. Ask God to thwart that advice so they will look instead to Him for direction.

Proverbs 27:14-27

Proverbs 27:21 “Fire tests the purity of silver and gold, but a person is tested by being praised.” Lord help me not to fail this test! Remind me constantly that all the good that comes out of my life, comes from You and all praise belongs to You.

Matthew 24:29-51

Matthew 24:30 Lord Jesus, the prospect of the last days and all the suffering they will bring fills me with dread, but the prospect of Your coming with power and great glory, oh how I want to see that! Come, Lord Jesus.

Matthew 24:44 Lord, I know that I am to be ready for Your return every day of my life. Teach me to hold my life and all its trappings loosely in my hands so as to be ready when You appear on the last day.

Matthew 24:45-46 Lord I want to be a loyal sensible servant for You, faithful in the work You have set for me. Teach me, and discipline me, I pray, so that I will be found holy in Your eyes when You return.

to the world.
