Jeremiah 7-8; Psalm 118; Hebrews13

Jeremiah 7

Jeremiah 7:4-10 God,help me not to be fooled by empty promises and easy solutions. Help me to understand the depth of what you offer me and what you expect from me. Forgive me when I use you as a convenience or safety net, and then beat a path to my sins.

Jeremiah 7:16 Father, help me to know when to pray and when to stop praying for a situation.

Jeremiah 7:23 I know, Lord, that if I only do as you say, all will be well! Help me to simply, and deeply, trust and obey.

Jeremiah 7:29 God, please produce the kind of godly sorrow in my life that will help me turn away from sin and stay away ( 2 Corinthians 7:9-11).

Jeremiah 8

Jeremiah 8:3 Lord, You alone are God, and Your punishment is sure for those who refuse to turn to You. But Your love and forgiveness are just as sure for those who repent and follow You devotedly. I praise you today for both Your justice and mercy.

Jeremiah 8:5 Father, please protect me from self-destructive tendencies and habits.

Jeremiah 8:11 Lord, help me to respond to hurting people with genuine compassion and wisdom.

Jeremiah 8:15 Lord, please send peace and healing to Your people today.

Psalm 118

Psalm 118:6 Lord, You are for me! You are on my side! I will not be afraid, because if You are for me, who can possibly be against me? (Romans 8:31)

Psalm 118:14 Thank You Lord, because You are our strength and song and have become our salvation.

Psalm 118:22-23 I praise You because the stone rejected by the builders has now become the cornerstone (Matthew 21:42). Jesus Christ, I make You the cornerstone of my life.

Psalm 118:24 Lord, this day, like every day, is the day You have made.I will rejoice and be glad in it.

Hebrews 13

Hebrews 13:1-2 Dear God, show us how we can become more hospitable to those who need our friendship and encouragement. Put needy people in our life and give us the grace to minister to them.

Hebrews 13:3 Pray for someone who is in prison, perhaps someone you read about in he news, that the person will seek and find the One who can rescue him or her from futility and despair.

Hebrews 13:20-21 What a privilege that we can pray this prayer by inserting our name and the names of others too.

Jeremiah 26; Hebrews 12

Jeremiah 26

Jeremiah 26:2-3 Father, help me never to pick and choose which of Your requirements I will obey. Help me to heed every word that You have spoken.

Jeremiah 26:4 Thank You, merciful God, for the many “second chances” You have given me, just as You gave the people of Judah many second chances.

Jeremiah 26:12 Help me to speak the truth. Lord, even when it’s hard, as it was so often for Jeremiah.

Jeremiah 26:19 Father, help me to learn from the examples of Your obedient servants, like Hezekiah.

Jeremiah 26:24 God, help me to speak bravely in defence of the righteous.

Hebrews 12

Hebrews 12:1-3 Let your mind’s eye see this huge crowd of witnesses, encouraging you and cheering you on as you run your race. Hear them as you run toward Jesus, who started you on the race and who stands at the finish line.

Hebrews 12:7-9 Father, I know that Your discipline always arises from Your love for me, and that it is always for my good. So forgive me, I pray, when I miss the point or run and complain when You discipline me.

Hebrews 12:12-14 Pray that God will strengthen you as you take a new grip on your faith and plant your feet firmly on the path of a clean, holy, and peaceable life.

Hebrews 12:16 Lord, give us the foresight and self-discipline to avoid Esau’s fate. Help us not to give up eternal goals in order to enjoy the table of temporary pleasures that sometimes tempt us.

Jeremiah 11-12; Psalm 135; Hebrews 11

Jeremiah 11

Jeremiah 11:1-2 Lord, as it pleased You to give Jeremiah a message to the people, grant us the privilege of sharing Your words with those we come in contact with today.

Jeremiah 11:5 Whatever You tell me to do, Lord, please let me answer, “So be it, Lord!” I want Your will and Your way in my life!

Jeremiah 11:8 Father, help us to constantly choose Your will over our own desires.

Jeremiah 11:16 Make me like a thriving olive tree, Lord, beautiful to see and full of good fruit.

Jeremiah 11:21 Lord, let me not be intimidated by people who try to torment me because they feel convicted or threatened by Your truth.

Jeremiah 12

Jeremiah 12:3 Lord, You know my heart. You see me and test my thoughts. “point out anything in me that offends You, and lead me along the path of everlasting life” (Psalm 139:24)

Jeremiah 12:5 Father, help us to prove ourselves in little things so that You can trust us with greater things.

Jeremiah 12:8 Lord, if I ever open my mouth to speak disrespectfully to You, please close it before a single syllable escapes.

Psalm 135

Psalm 135:1,3,5 Praise your name, O Lord! I praise You because You are good. I praise Your name, O Lord! I praise You because You are great.

Psalm 135:6 I praise Your name, O Lord! I praise You because You are Sovereign; You do whatever pleases You.

Psalm 135:9 I praise Your name O Lord! I praise You because You are a God of miracles.

Psalm 135:13 I praise Your name, O Lord! I praise You because You are eternal; Your name will last forever.

Psalm 135:15-18 I praise You, Lord, because You are living and true, unlike the world’s idols.

Hebrews 11

Hebrews 11:1-2 Ponder Scripture’s definition of faith. Pray that the Holy Spirit will deepen your “confident assurance” of what you hope for and expand your vision of what you cannot see.

Hebrews11:8-10 Dear God, give me a faith like Abraham’s! Help me to step out in faith, even when I don’t know where You are taking me.

Hebrews 11:13 Pray that God will give you a vision of your heavenly homeland, and a hunger and desire to dwell there whenever God calls you.

Hebrews 11:20 God of the future, we give You our precious children. We entrust them to You with confidence in what You will do in their futures.

Hebrews 11:25 Help me to treasure You. Lord, more than any of the fleeting pleasures of the world in which I live. May my life with You, now and forever, be more important to me than anything that this life has to offer.

Hebrews 11:30 What is your Jericho, a social problem, a trial, a conflict with another person? Pray your way around it with faith, trusting God for results that you cannot yet see.

Jeremiah 3-4; Hebrews 9

Jeremiah 3

Jeremiah 3:1 Thank You Lord, that You are always earnestly, tenderly calling us back to You when we stray into rebellion.

Jeremiah 3:5 Lord, please protect us from a flippant, casual attitude towards sin.

Jeremiah 3:6 Father, in light of this verse showing us of Israel’s adulterous way with other gods. Please make me faithful not fickle.

Jeremiah 3:12 Lord God, You are merciful. Thank You from the depth of my heart for never giving up on me.

Jeremiah 3:22 Thank You for Your call to all of us who have been wayward. Personally I thank You for healing my wayward heart. Now I ask You to keep it trained on You.

Jeremiah 4

Jeremiah 4:1-2 Lord, help us to strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress (Hebrews 12:1), so that we may live a good and honest life, one that is pleasing to You.

Jeremiah 4:3 Take this opportunity to ask God to help you by the power of the Holy Spirit to Plough up any hard ground in your heart and to plant a fruitful crop there.

Jeremiah 4:14 Father, please cleanse my heart and keep it clean, so I will be ready for whatever test or trouble may come next.

Jeremiah 4:17 Let us join our hearts in prayer and pray for those in our family, church and community who are rebelling against God.

Jeremiah 4:22 Lord, this verse says Your children are clever enough at doing wrong, but they have no talent at all for doing right. Please make us amateurs at doing wrong, but professional at doing right, so that all we do or say will bring glory to You.

Hebrews 9

Hebrews 9:1-10 Jesus, cleanse the sanctuary of my heart by Your blood to make it clean, beautiful, and majestic, a worthy place in which to worship the Almighty God.

Hebrews 9:11-12 imagine a grand, majestic sanctuary and picture the glorified Jesus entering to sprinkle His blood. Imagine following Him in and falling on your knees in worship. My dear praying friends after spending the last six days in Jerusalem this is a very vivid picture for me.
I cannot begin to describe to you how much gratitude I feel in my heart for my risen Saviour. He has purchased our redemption! Pause from whatever your doing right now and give Him the praise that is due to Him. Worthy is the LAMB!

Hebrews 9:22 Contemplate Jesus’ tremendous sacrifice on our behalf. By the shedding of His innocent blood, forgiveness of sins is made possible for every single person who believes.
Thank Him for His precious sacrifice and its purifying power.

Hebrews 9:27-28 Satan will do everything to get us distracted from what our Saviour done for us at Calvary, because he knows that distraction is the greatest enemy to God’s direction for our life. Meditate on the truth that Jesus came once for all time and died to pay the penalty that you and I would otherwise still have to pay. Spiritual death.

Jeremiah 1:18-19 Mighty God, thank You for equipping me with spiritual armour (Ephesians 6:11-18) against my enemy. Make me strong like a fortified city that cannot be captured, like an iron pillar or a bronze wall.

Jeremiah 2

Jeremiah 2:1-3 Lord make me as eager to please You today as I was when I first experienced Your love and grace.

Jeremiah 2:8 Father, I don’t want to waste my time on nonsense. Teach me what is truly important in life, and help me concentrate on that.

Jeremiah 2:17 Lord, I know You want to lead me and show me the way. I submit to You today and await Your guidance.

Jeremiah 2:20 How long has it been since The Lord broke the yoke of your sin and tore away the chains of your slavery? Thank Him for that, and for your spiritual growth since then.

Jeremiah 2:31-32 Lord, You have been good and kind to me, You have brought nothing but light into my life. Help me to follow You and serve You gratefully.

Jeremiah 2:35 Lord, I know that if we say we have no sin, we are fooling ourselves and refusing to accept the truth. But if we confess our sins to You, You are faithful to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong (1 John 1:8-9). Thank You, Lord. Amen.

Psalm 123

Psalm 123:1-2 I lift my eyes to You, O God. Let me look to You as attentively as servants keep their eyes on their masters, as faithfully as a slave girl watches her mistress for the slightest signal.

Hebrews 8

Hebrews 8:8-10 Father, how precious this new covenant is, because it means that I can come directly to You as Your child with my needs, my concerns my confessions, and my praise.
