Nahum 1-3; Psalm 102; Hebrews 1

Nahum 1

Nahum 1:2-6 Lord, I praise You because You are a passionate God. You are jealous of anything that gets in the way of my love for You. I praise You because Your power is great. You display Your mighty power in all parts of creation. Yet, You love me! How I praise You!

Nahum 1:7 God knows those who trust in Him. Pray a prayer of thanks that He will never forget or overlook you.

Nahum 2

Nahum 2:10 Pray for those who live in areas of national upheaval. Pray that God will be with all those, young and old, who go to bed tonight in fear.

Nahum 2:13 God, I thank You that I am no longer Your enemy. Because of the saving work of Your Son, Jesus, You now call me Your friend (John 15:15). What marvellous news!

Nahum 3

Nahum 3:1 pray for your city to be ruled by truth and life instead of by murder and lies.

Nahum 3:5 Thank You, God, for delivering me from the sham that was a part of my sinfulness before You redeemed me.

Nahum 3:15 Lord, please protect me from the enemy of my soul today, and keep me from stumbling into sin.

Psalm 102

Psalm 102:7 When you have trouble sleeping, don’t just lie there counting sheep, speak to the Shepherd pour out prayers and thanksgiving to God until sleep returns.

Psalm 102:16 Lord, please rebuild the broken places of my life. Heal my hurts and restore what I’ve ruined with sin.

Psalm 102:18 Pray for the Bible to be distributed among nations, peoples, and future generations who have not yet heard or read its testimony.

Psalm 102:25-26 Look around you. Material things will not last. Only God himself and the people He created are destined for eternity. Spend some time today praising God that He made you for an eternity with Him.

Hebrews 1

Hebrews 1:1-3 Spend time in praise and adoration of Jesus, the reflection of God’s glory, the exact representation of God, the maker and sustainer of the universe, our Saviour, who is now seated at the gift hand of God.

Hebrews 1:8-12 Pray these words from the psalms as a hymn of praise to Jesus.

2 Kings 21; Matthew 28

2 Kings 21

2 Kings 21:1-2  O God, our children, our precious children. May they not be hardened to You like Manasseh, who does what is evil despite his father’s godliness. Help us Lord, to seize every opportunity to pass our faith on to the next generation.

2 Kings 21:16 Sin hardens the human heart until life itself has no value. Pray for God to convict our nation of unjust killing of the innocent weather through abortion or the murders taking place in our nation.

2 Kings 21:22 Come what may! May I never abandon You, Lord. No matter what delights or schemes or treasures the world has to offer, help us to remember that You are our hearts desire, our only hope, our God.

Matthew 28

Matthew 28:1-10 As a new day is dawning, I praise You, and offer thanksgiving to the Living Lord, who bought the hope of new life out of the tomb and into our lives. Lord, I pray for a fresh wonder of the gift of eternal life.

Matthew 28:9  I worship You, resurrected Saviour. I praise You for the work You finished on the cross, for the death You died willingly, and for rising from the grave. I thank You for salvation from sin that Your work provides for me. Hallelujah!

Matthew 28:16-20 Ask God to give you energy and zeal as you renew your determination to carry out the Great Commission, and an awareness of His Spirit within you as you live each day.

Isaiah 62

Isaiah 62:1 For Zion’s sake Isaiah said he will not hold his peace and be silent. Let us have a heart like Isaiah. Yom Kippur began yesterday and continues through today, pray for peace in Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6) and for the salvation of her people Jew and Gentile.

Isaiah 62:2 Thank you Lord, for this verse. As the 67th General Assembly of the United Nations began this week. Many leaders have expressed their concerns about that the arch enemy of the Jewish people will be able to address world leaders on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. The United Nations will have its Annual Debate of the General Assembly from September 25th – October 1st, when all 193 member states will gather in New York to be faced with a unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state. In the next few months your nation will have to decide if it will accept the creation of a new Islamic state in the Middle East with the Old City of Jerusalem (East Jerusalem) as its capital.
Thank You Lord, this verse declares “And the nations shall see your righteousness and vindication ( your rightness and justice – not your own, but His ascribed to you).

Isaiah 64:5 Father, please make me one of those who cheerfully do good, who willingly and quickly follow godly ways.

Psalm 22:1-18

Psalm 22:1-3 Even when we feel forsaken, Lord, You are holy. Your holiness and righteousness do not change with our moods. Help us to trust You even when we don’t feel Your presence.

Psalm 22:16-18 Lord Jesus, thank You for Your sacrificial love that was prophesied in these verses (Mark 15:24).

Matthew 27:27-44

Matthew 27:27-31 Jesus, King of Kings and Lord of lords, may my praise and the praises of all your church drown out the words of those who mocked You and spit on You.
