2 Chronicles 34-35; Hebrews 4

2 Chronicles 34

2 Chronicles 34:3 Lord, thank you today for reminding me that during the eighth year of his reign, Josiah is still only sixteen years old. Join me in prayer for the youth of our nation to rise up to God’s call. He has much for them to do.

2 Chronicles 34:11 Lord, Your Word clearly shows me that through the years, neglect has caused the Temple to deteriorate. It is the same with our spiritual life.
Ask the Lord to help you be deliberate and disciplined in prayer, worship, and reading His Word.

2 Chronicles 34:19 When we look at society in the light of God’s Word, it causes pain. I believe it is the right thing for us to take a day to fast and mourn for your nation. Ask God to lead our nation to repentance and to restore its trust in Him.
I writes these words from the City of Jerusalem.

2 Chronicles 34:26-28 I recognise that for the sake of the righteous, God sometimes stays His hand of judgment for a season. This can be a time of serious repentance that saves many lives. Pray that the Lord will stay His judgment and allow time for a wave of conversion to sweep across the face of the earth.

2 Chronicles 34:33 Josiah sets the standard of righteousness. Pray for Godly leaders in the body of Christ who will model wholehearted devotion to God and His Purpose.

Hebrews 4

Hebrews 4:9 Father thank You so much for letting me be in Jerusalem at this time, the city of peace where there is no peace. Help me Lord God, to quiet my mind, spirit, and emotions before You. Teach me the reality of resting in You, of giving up the effort of being good or holy on my own.

Hebrews 4:12 Holy God, I submit my innermost thoughts and desires to Your Word. Cut through the self-protective shell, our tough, callous attitudes, and the scar tissue of old wounds.
Lord expose all my heart to Your healing gaze.

Hebrews 4:14-5:2 Today be bold and courageous. Imagine yourself clinging to Jesus, looking into His gentle face. Pour out your heart and name the temptations you face.
