Jeremiah 9-10; Proverbs 30:1-17; James 1

Jeremiah 9

Jeremiah 9:3 God, by Your grace and power, enable me to stand up for the truth, even when it’s hard or embarrassing or awkward. May my loyalty to You come before my own comfort.

Jeremiah 9:7 Lord, when You choose test me like gold in a fire, give me the strength and purity to pass the test with flying colours (Job 23:10).

Jeremiah 9:13 Father, help me to follow Your instructions and lean on Your wisdom in all I do today.

Jeremiah 9:19 Lord, I pray for all the victims of natural disasters around the world today. May we do what we can to help them physically and financially.

Jeremiah 9:24 O Lord, let me boast in only this; that I truly know You and understand that You are just and righteous and that Your love for me will never fail. How wonderful You are Lord! How could I even think of boasting in anything else?

Jeremiah 10

Jeremiah 10:3-5 Dear Lord, please protect us from futile and foolish ways, steer us far away from all that has to do with the occult, from counterfeit beliefs, and from irresponsible teachings.

Jeremiah 10:16 Heavenly Father, You are the creator of everything that exists, including me. I praise You for Your creative powers.

Jeremiah 10:23-24 I know, Lord, that my life is not my own. I can’t plan my own course, even though it is so easy to try. So please lead, guide and correct me Lord.

Proverbs 30

Proverbs 30:1 O God, when we are weary and worn out, renew our strength, give us the wings of eagles so we can live to glorify Your Holy Name. (Isaiah 40:30-31)

Proverbs 30:8 Lord, how caught up the culture we live in is in gaining riches. Please rescue us from that trap. Remove falsehood and lies far from us so we can be the glorious church You designed us to be.

James 1

James 1:2-4 Pray that, in times of trouble, You will experience joy in knowing that You are developing endurance and strength of character.

James 1:5-6 Give me wisdom, Lord, and confidence in You so that I’m sure of what you want from and for me.

James 1:12 Praise God for the promise of an eternal reward that gives you a sense of peace even in the storms that buffet you now.

James 1:14-15 Father, alert us to the temptations that arise from within our own evil desires and give us the wisdom and power to recognise and resist them. In the name of Jesus.

James 1:21 Holy God, overwhelm me with the desire to be obedient to Your word. I pray that You plant in me a holy discontent with my inclination to speak and think evil.
