Daniel 5-6; Ecclesiastes 8; John 7:25-53

Daniel 5

Daniel 5:4 God, thank You that You are not a god of gold, silver, bronze, iron, wood, or stone all physical elements that can be destroyed but that You are an everlasting Spirit, whom I can worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:23). Help us not to be like the people in Daniel’s time. They praised the gods and they desecrated the sacred vessels by using them in idolatrous worship.

Daniel 5:12 Lord, please give me a sharp mind filled with knowledge and understanding. O Lord release Your excellent Spirit upon those who truly love You so we may move in the gifts of knowledge, understanding, interpretations dreams, solving riddles, and explaining enigmas and bring glory to Your Name.

Daniel 5:17 Father, let me not be influenced by wealth and power, but help me to humbly do Your will.

Daniel 5:23 Lord, I praise You and submit to You as the One who gives me the breath of life and controls my destiny. Help me to speak out as Daniel did with no compromise and glorify Your Name.

Daniel 5:26-27 God, please help me to make the most of my life, however long or short it may be. When I come to the end of my life, may the balance weigh in my favour, Lord, not because of anything I’ve done, but because of what You’ve done in my life.

Daniel 6

Daniel 6:3-4 God blessed Daniel in his work because of his faithfulness and honesty. Consciously put God in charge of your job placement and advancement. Do the best you’re able to do, and commit the rest in prayer to Him.

Daniel 6:10 Father, help us, please let nothing, not distractions, not amusements, not challenges interfere with my times of pryer and fellowship with you.

Daniel 6:16 Please give me the courage, Lord, to stand firm when my faith is challenged and my convictions are tested.

Daniel 6:20-22 God, I thank You that You are able to keep me and protect me through every circumstance, and bring me into your “glorious presence innocent of sin and with great joy” (Jude 24).

Daniel 6:26-27 Lord, I praise You because You are the living God, and You will endure forever, Your holy rule will never end. You rescue and save Your people. I know that if you could protect Daniel from the mouths of lions, You can protect my family and me.

Ecclesiastes 8

Ecclesiastes 8:2-6 Pray that God would give you nation’s leaders wisdom to deal with the troubles of the entire country in a way that God’s will be done.

Ecclesiastes 8:14 Lord, make me wise enough not to expect an easy road. Remind me that You bless those who are persecuted because they live for You. (Matthew 5:10).

Ecclesiastes 8:17 Remind me often, Lord, that I don’t know everything. Help me to be humble in my quest for and use of knowledge.

John 7:25-53

John 7:25-27 Give thanks to God for His living word, that through the prophets of the Old Testament and the Good News of the New Testament, you recognise and can know the Messiah.

John 7:38 Saviour, I open my heart and mind to You, the living water, my only source of eternal life. Let me drink deeply of Your presence and let the river of Your Spirit flow through my Spirit.

John 7:50-51 Pray that God will give you the courage and clarity you need to assert yourself in the cause of righteousness and justice even though you stand in the minority.
