Jeremiah 51:5 Lord, I thank You that You do not forsake Your people. Even if we are unfaithful, You remain faithful. What a wonderful God we serve! You are worthy of our trust.

Jeremiah 51:6 Father, help us to flee from evil desires and evil places. Help me to ‘pursue faith and love and peace, and enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts” (2 Timothy 2:22).

Jeremiah 51:15 Almighty God, I praise You because You made the earth by Your power, and You preserve it by Your wisdom.

Jeremiah 51:44 I praise You for defeating and exposing as false all the idols of the nations. Please deliver those who are still enslaved by false goods and man made religions.

Jeremiah 51:50 Lord, help me to remember You and be faithful to You regardless of where I am or what my schedule may be.

Jeremiah 51:56 Lord, I thank You that You only punish those who deserve it. You never punish without reason. I praise You for Your justice.

Ecclesiastes 3

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 Lord, help me to rejoice, rather than despair, in the seasons and cycles of life. Give me a greater appreciation for life’s ceaseless flow.

Ecclesiastes 3:9-15 An eternal perspective and a healthy fear of God are difficult to maintain in this world. Ask God to keep your heart trained on Him and free from the corrupting influences of sin as you enjoy the good things of life.

Ecclesiastes 3:16-17 Injustice so pervades our society. Lord, Thank You that Your judgment is always in accordance with truth and holy integrity.

John 5:19-47

John 5:24 Reflect on this mystery and promise that those who respond in faith to Jesus’ words will never be condemned but have already passed from death into life. Let’s respond in praise and prayer.

John 5:25 Pray that Jesus will so live in you that when you speak, the “walking dead” will hear your voice and accept that Jesus is Lord and live.

John 5:41-44 It was so far away and so long ago, Lord, that you walked on earth, speaking these words and doing miracles. And yet these words and these images hold such beauty, hope, and welcome for me. I believe, Lord, help every area of my unbelief.

2 Kings 25;2 Chronicles 36; Psalm 137; John 4:1-26

2 Kings 25

2 Kings 27:7 Lord, how horrible, Zedekiah watches his children being killed. Yet sometimes we are so blinded to how easily the devil could destroy our children if we fail to pray for them and teach them Your ways. Keep my priorities straight. The lives of my children depend on it!

2 Kings 25:21 Your judgment is inescapable, God. I thank You that You sent Jesus to take sins punishment for me. Because of His death on the cross in my place, I need never fear Your judgment, Hallelujah!

2 Kings 25:24-26 The promises of the kingdoms of this world carry no weight. The peace and wealth of the enemy is short lived. Ask the Lord to protect your heart from this deception.

2 Chronicles 36

2 Chronicles 36:14-16 You have always been kind to me, Lord, warning me of the consequences of my sin. Forgive me for when I have not listened. Correct me before it is too late. May I never scorn Your Word and those You have sent to me in Your name.

2 Chronicles 36:17-20 No one on earth from east to west, or even from the wilderness, can raise another person up. It is God alone who judges; He decides who will fall.
But as for me, I will always proclaim what God has done. I will sing praise to the God of Israel (Psalm 75:6-7, 9)

2 Chronicles 36:22-23 You never forgot Your people, Lord! How amazing are these few words! You punished Your people, but You didn’t forget them or Your plan to restore them. What confidence in You I find reading these words.

Psalm 137

Psalm 137:5-6 As you live like a foreigner here on earth (1 Peter 2:11), how often do you remember Jerusalem, where the King of kings established His kingdom and will return to reign?

John 4:1-26

John 4:7-9 Jesus, how easily You broke down or disregarded the walls of race and nationality and gender as You sought out those who needed to know You. Teach me to do likewise.

John 4:13-14 Lord Jesus, I know You are the source of sweet, refreshing water that springs within us. So why do we so often neglect to drink? Remind me to hold out my cup so that you can fill it up.

John 4:21-24 Thank God for His Presence with you wherever you are and that you can worship Him anywhere and everywhere, in spirit and in truth.

Jeremiah 52:27 The path to exile was taken one small step at a time, Lord. I read of all the opportunities You gave Your people to turn back to you. Help me to choose Your ways day after day, Lord, remembering that turning away in small ways can snowball into disaster.
